gimp + fonts

hey all, i'm trying to do a little work with gimp; i have years of photoshop experience, but this is my first real project in gimp. so far so good, and i'm very impressed with it.

the only thing i can't seem to figure out are the fonts. i'm trying to create an image that's pretty high resolution, and need some text. however, i can't figure out how to bump any of the fonts past 24pt. everything is real small in this image, and i need to be able to get the font up to at least 75pt.

any suggestions?

I'm using Gimp v 1.2.3 and I can get up to 72pt.

yeah, i can get pretty good font sizes using the gimp on my redhat box, but on my slack8 box the best i can get is 24. i use the dynamic fonts on redhat, but they don't work in slack for some reason.
