Umm.

They all work for accelerated 3D under Linux, so get the one you want / can afford.

Dave

P.S. I'm very happy with my GeForce FX 5200. Just so you know.

Sure. Why not.

I'm using a Hauppage TV card, and it works very nicely indeed.

I recommend going for something above GeForce FX 5200.

MSI has some nice products...highly recommend looking at something with good heat sink AND fan.

I have the MSI GeForce FX 5200 vtd128, it is a great card, but the 3d is a little crappy...but thats the chipset. Video out works great, though I haven't tried video in.

If you go MSI, don't use MSI drivers in Windows, if you use windows.

If you do use windows, download the NVIDIA driver, and install that.
If you want the extra features of the MSI driver, download the NVIDIA driver, install the MSI driver...start windows in safe mode and install the NVIDIA driver overtop of the MSI driver.

Though this may not be a problem, especially if you have a proper 8x AGP slot.

MSI also gives pretty good software bundles.

Take a look at their selection here: http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_list.asp?class=vga

VIVO is a nice feature.
The TV tuner option is not available on the better chipsets I don't think.
Amazing brand for GeForce chipset products!!!!

If you have the cash go for the MSI GeForce FX5900XT VTD128 or better. This card is comparable to the ATI 9600XT chipset, though more expensive...but make sure you look at features and extras when comparing packages...MSI will make it seem like its your birthday when you open the package

Just read a few reviews, and post a more specific description of what you are looking for, and what price range.

I assume you;ve decided NVIDIA is the way to go for the chipset? They are a little behind ATI in performance (the FX5900XT being competetive though) but the driver is pretty close to 100% linux compatible which is definitely a great advantage.

???

you are going to get 2 of what for $96? If you want to hook up two monitors, the MSI cards mentioned have this ability already I believe. I don't know how well it works, but the DVI connector can be used with a DVI to VGA adapter (included in many packages) to hook up a second monitor. I've never tried it personally but I have heard good things.
