getting hardware infromation
 
sir... i m using putty to log on a remote server.... i want to see configuration of all h/w devices attached to it... i cant use hwbrowser...coz i cant see output....now when i use dmesg. or lspci i dont get all the information.. AND thisinfo i have to send to some non technical guys... is there nyway or command that can display all the h/w configuration at the prompt only.. kindly help...

See if you have a package called Sitar.

lshw works well for providing a very complete list of hardware from the command line. Not installed by default on my distro but it's a tiny package.
