Getting Enlightment to be default using LightDM

OK so I have tried a few methods to make Enlightenment (E17) be the default desktop environment. Exactly what o am doing is building my own distro using Xubuntu 11.10 in virtualbox and I'm going to strip it down once get Enlightenment loading where I want it and rebuild from there.

OK now I have installed E17 and I am using LightDM for the graphical log in. I have tried editing the /ext/lightdm/lightdm.conf and entering "enlightenment" as well as "enlightenment_ start" in the line "user-session" and neither work. I have also ran the command "sudo /usr/lib/lightdm/lightdm-set-defaults -s enlightenment" as well as using "enlightenment_start" so I'm not to sure what else to do. Any help would be good. Thanks.

hi

I don't have any experience at lightdm but I did not make any changes to its config

instead I have a /home/name/.xinitrc whose contents are

exec /usr/bin/enlightenment_start

when I use root powers to close down my old dm and start your dm enlightenment becomes a pull down and I can boot into it

/etc/init.d/app stop
/etc/init.d/lightdm start

good luck
