getting *past* a firewall
ok, i've been trying for months, and i'm at a deadend. so here's the info/story:
i work for one of those security paranoid companies that has a firewall which filters any outside network connections. the connections you can make outside the intranet require a username/pw (even the web). so far i've been able to do pretty much everything i normally could (web browsing, FTP, telnet, even AIM) however, the one service i'm unable to use around the firewall is SSH. i'd love to ssh into my box at home... it'd make the day go so much more quickly. but i just can't figure out how to get past this fscking firewall.
here are the firewall details:
browsers need to load an auto-config script.
telneting needs to be done by telneting to a specific IP, logging in, then getting bounced to whatever host you want.
FTP is much the same as telneting.
AIM is using an HTTP(S) proxy server, with an IP as the host, and a specific port.
i'm wondering if there's a way to use a proxy similar to that which i can use for AIM. i've tried SSHing to the telnet server, it logs in alright, but as soon as it validates me it boots me right out. i've tried other IDs/PWs that i've... uhhhh... borrowed. :-) no luck.
any ideas???
