What has happened is that i have made a german password for SUSE 10.1 and when i restarted it to login i couldn't change the keyboard. Can anyone help me?
You created a password that uses special characters requiring a german keyboard to login. Your login default keyboard is a USA one. So you cannot type your password?
You want help to do what? Enter your machine, or change the default keyboard encoding?
To break into your machine, you must use rescue mode and erase your password. Then reboot ... your password will now be a carriage return. Then you can fiddle the settings to your heart's content.
Nope. I'm not sure about SUSE, but you usually boot from the install CD, at the boot: prompt you type "linux rescue". (Failing that, use a live distro or a specifically mastered rescue CD.)
OR maybe you can get to recovery mode from the GRUB menue?
