Gentoo native install and Windows Vmware
Hey guys,
I'm a long time Gentoo user. Recently I installed Windows on a portion of my HD. I'm about to install Gentoo on the rest of my HD. Now, I have a 64-bit system, but my Windows version i'm running is 32bit. The Gentoo installation will be 64bit :) Here is the question: After I install this 64bit Gentoo OS, will I be able to access it within my 32bit Windows Vmware Workstation? If so, will I be able to run my 64 linux applications on top of my 32 Windows OS via Vmware? That would be really cool :) |

As far as I know, there should be no problem running x86 software on vmware under amd64. I do it for testing purposes with linux livecds on my sempron desktop. I don't know if vmware is able to emulate and x86_64 cpu when it's running under x86. |
Well. I guess were about to find out.

Does anyone know if I can install gentoo with Windows 32bit VMware onto a physical partition and be able to natively boot to it?

My guess is that to run windows inside the vm, you need to install it using the vm. |
