general gui question - (not in need of help)

I was just wondering (too much coffee perhaps)

why always rectangular windows?

why not eliptical or circular or tringular??

why not , now that there's more mghz available for gui's, aren't there wildly animated desktops?

there are the beginnings of it in hoverdesk

is there a linux equivelant yet???

For a start why?

Anyway depends on the program Noatun in KDE can be anyshape it wants with Skins.

My current windows have rounded corners, but you start to get problems with wild designed shaped windows.

Mostly cuz there is no point to it, its just eyecandy, and would usually make things harder rather than easier to use.

Whats the point of a round window? or a Triangle? It would just waste desktop space.

There are a few thins that can be skinned like that. There is a project I keep wanting to try out yet never have the time to located here:
http://desk3d.sourceforge.net/

It lets you switch your multiple desktops in a 3d view.

Look at the animated demo - it is quite good.

I've used that 3d desktop stuff, Quite fun.

Impressed the hell out of all my Windows using Mates, (Great for a Yes but Can you do this!).

Although only the current screen is updated (so if you have a process running on another desktop. And it closes/finishes then you'll just get the last View of the desktop you had, not how it would look when you switched.

I still have it on a hotkey combo, But I dont use it much except to impress the vunerable.
