Smile gconfd error message

Hi,
I am getting this error message in my messages file on start up:

"gconfd (dz-767): Failed to get lock for daemon, exiting: Failed to lock '/tmp/gconfd-dz/lock/ior': probably another process has the lock, or your operating system has NFS file locking misconfigured (Resource temporarily unavailable)"

What is causing this message?

How can I make this message go away?

Thanks
