Gcc kernel help
 
I want to upgrade on my red hat linux 7.1 my Gcc gdb debugger. Where are some good link. I know the web site for gcc but i not sure what Gcc to download there so many ftp server.


When i download the kernel 2.4.20 all i do is download a patch. I want to download the stable kernel.:Pengy:

Well, don't hold me to this, but I think that because your distro is older, you may need to upgrade gdb, gcc and perhaps even glibc. You can search rpmfind.net for rpms if you want, or if you want to install from source just pick the most recent stable versions for your machines arch.

As far as the kernel, to get the full source click on the 'F' next to the kernel you want at kernel.org ie:

You need only new gcc (it's a good idea to install it in the a new directory, to separate both versions). You can get the source from ftp.gnu.org.
