this relates to software and hardware not getting along so i place it in General
Half-Life with TFC mod through WineX
Mandrake 8.2
GeForce2Ti200
i downloaded the kernel thing for the drivers and i downloaded the drivers themselves (both RPM files). i installed the kernel thing then the drivers themselves like you are supposed to. when i run Half-Life is use this command (incase anybody notices an error in the command i use)
winex ./hl.exe --hl.exe -gl -game tfc -console -dev
then when i try to join a game it says my video card does not support OpenGL (only tries to use OpenGL after connecting to a server)
i DID restart the computer after installing the .rpm files and i'm all out of ideas. my friend runs Half-Life with TFC mod through WineX as well so don't say WineX is the problem, he's on RedHat 7.1 though
well i just went to Windows XP on that computer (it was my web server and since it was down i didn't have anything to play games on lol, i'm impatient)
but thank you for the tip, i don't care much for rpm files either. thanks for your help
