Fx 5200 Svideo out to Vizo 42" HDTV svideo in. Running Centos 5.5 32bit with Gnome
Hello I have a nvidia GeForce FX 5200 Video Card, I am running Centos 5.5 32Bit on a Dell Pentium 4.
I have a dell 15" lcd mointor hooked up to the 1 of the 2 vga output of the vid card. I have been trying to get Video out in Gnome working on my Vizo 42 HDTV with a Svideo cable from the FX 5200 vid card to the Svideo on the vizo HDTV tv but I do not seem to be able to get it working correct. I followed the guide on centos wiki here: http://wiki.centos.o...Nvidia_Graphics I installed: NVIDIA-Linux-x86-71.86.14-pkg1.run here is the output of lspci -v 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82845 845 [Brookdale] Chipset Host Bridge (rev 03) Subsystem: Dell Unknown device 0110 Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0 Memory at e8000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=128M] Capabilities: [e4] Vendor Specific Information Capabilities: [a0] AGP version 2.0 00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82845 845 [Brookdale] Chipset AGP Bridge (rev 03) (prog-if 00 [Normal decode]) Flags: bus master, 66MHz, fast devsel, latency 64 Bus: primary=00, secondary=01, subordinate=01, sec-latency=64 00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 PCI Bridge (rev 12) (prog-if 00 [Normal decode]) Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0 Bus: primary=00, secondary=02, subordinate=02, sec-latency=64 I/O behind bridge: 0000e000-0000efff Memory behind bridge: fc000000-fdffffff Prefetchable memory behind bridge: f0000000-f7ffffff 00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82801BA ISA Bridge (LPC) (rev 12) Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0 00:1f.1 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801BA IDE U100 Controller (rev 12) (prog-if 80 [Master]) Subsystem: Dell Unknown device 0110 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0 I/O ports at ffa0 [size=16] 00:1f.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801BA/BAM USB Controller #1 (rev 12) (prog-if 00 [UHCI]) Subsystem: Dell Unknown device 0110 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 169 I/O ports at ff80 [size=32] 00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation 82801BA/BAM SMBus Controller (rev 12) Subsystem: Dell Unknown device 0110 Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 185 I/O ports at dcd0 [size=16] 00:1f.4 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801BA/BAM USB Controller #1 (rev 12) (prog-if 00 [UHCI]) Subsystem: Dell Unknown device 0110 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 177 I/O ports at ff60 [size=32] 02:07.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV34 [GeForce FX 5200] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Flags: bus master, 66MHz, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 3 Memory at fc000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16M] Memory at f0000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=128M] Expansion ROM at 80000000 [disabled] [size=128K] Capabilities: [60] Power Management version 2 02:08.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. It fails to start X. I have to delete /etc/X11/xorg.conf and then I can startx then I can use gnome on my Dell Lcd Computer sceen but the Vizo HDTV has all different color lines and can not see anything at all. I think I need help with my xorg.conf? unless this video card is to old? I have tryed nvidia-settings and also system-config-display to make a xorg.conf but neither seem to be helpfull. And then rebooting into run level 5 with the same results I have to delete my xorg.conf and then I can start X. suggestions or ideas would be great. Thank You. Harley-D |
I previously had an Nvidia FX5200, I used the legacy driver version 173.xx series. It looks like you are using the 71.xx series (NVIDIA-Linux-x86-71.86.14-pkg1.run).
Perhaps try again with the proper driver. Also, I think that link is incomplete or not properly tested. |
