Full screen console without logo

I'm trying to calibrate a touchscreen with touchcal (http://touchcal.sourceforge.net/) but I'm having some trouble. I use "init 3" to kill the X server. The problem is that there is an openSuse logo at the top of the screen which prevents touchcal from using the top of the screen. Is there a way to get a "clean" console without any logos that is full screen? Thank you!

Have you simply tried using 'clear'? I know this clears the default tux logo on slackware.

You could compile logo support out of the kernel. Or perhaps use vga mode in your bootloader, but this will give you a 640x480 screen.

Thank you for the replies. Clear didn't work.

I ended up using the flawed values as a starting point and kept tweaking them until they were accurate.
