(fse) could not open default font 'fixed'

Hi, using Md7.2 at the moment and today on boot could not startx. I keep getting the following error:

fatal server error:
could not open default font 'fixed'

Any ideas how to fix?

More info:

On shutdown I also get:

shutting down X Font server [Failed]

I also tried to reset using Xconfigurator with the normal known working settings but it fails and asks to change some parameters which doesn't make any difference.

The funny thing is that when I start Xconfigurator just above the display it says Font server started.

I also had a look at XF86config-4 and it says that MD uses a seperate font server but it doesn't stipulate what its called or where it is. XF86config-4 has the font path set to "unix/:1"

So the only think that I can think of causing this was the importing of the Windows fonts using Drakefont.

Any ideas how to repair X?
