Free CAD program for Linux?

Is there a free and open source cad for Linux, comparable with solidworks? No need fully compabtible, but at least 90% like mathlab and scilab. you know what I mean. Yes I know there is "FreeCAD", but it lag way way behind solidworks, no engineering school ever use it. Its like no Linux programmers know how to write it. Cant get a free copy of solidworks if youre not in school....
