free and/or and repartion hard drive?

i have 10 gigs dedicated to my / partition . i have started to run a ftp server to serve movies i have made. i am running out of space quickly.
i have 2 questions:
1)is there any method to cleaning up hd space. maybe finding which apps are the biggest? (my /usr/ folder is like 4.4gigs). i have become crippled by years of using window's program managemant features.
2)what is the best way to repartion? i have most of the drive in fat32 (for dualboot), is it ok to repartion??? can i use partition magic in windows???

i have rh9.
hd breakdown:

Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hdb3 10080520 9107320 461132 96% / (ext2)
/dev/hdb1 101089 27138 68732 29% /boot ?
none 256892 0 256892 0% /dev/shm ?
/dev/hdb4 47219552 32384736 14834816 69% /mnt/linux (fat32)
/dev/hda1 15351128 12465960 2885168 82% /mnt/rebel-sys (fat32)
/dev/hda5 62766624 36214816 26551808 58% /mnt/rebel-dat (fat32)

thanks.

For files like movies, I'd suggest storing them on your FAT32 space rather than /. That said, you can probably cut your / partition down a lot, and devote that space to fat for storage.

Look at your usage. You can't spontaneously generate hard drive space, but that rebel-dat partition is prime for large filestorage, while root is pretty tight. and probably getting fragmented.

As for tools, partitionmagic is fine, so is cfdisk. Just make sure you back up important data before doing any serious moving/resizing.

hard drive

i am serving the movies on vsftpd, is it safe to use a fat32?
i thought they had no permission settings?
also i thought that ext2 did not get fragmented?
