Framerate Issue

Well, I just downloaded and played this game called Vendetta, link is here:

Vendetta.guildsoftware.com

which by the way rocks and it's free, try it.

But the issue is this, with the graphics turned down the maximum my framerate ever got in linux was 19 or so.

In Windows with every single setting cranked to maximum, my framerate never got below 64, but maxed out in the high 200's. Any ideas as to why such a big difference in framerate? And can I fix it?

First off, what kind of vid card do you have? Have you installed the drivers correctly? If you haven't, there are posts up the wazoo on this forum re: installing your vid card drivers, expecially if you have an Nvidia or ATi card. I can tell you from experience, at least with Nvidia cards, that once the drivers are installed correctly the FPS is equivalent to if not greater then what I get on Windoze.
