Forwarding email


I have a new gmail account and I would like to redirect email from my ISP pop account to my Gmail addess. Is this possible using a linux tool.

Yes, ofcourse. You have to configure your email client in such a way that all the mails that it fetches from the ISP pop server be forwarded to gmail account. It is possible. I dont know which email client are u using.

In Linux there is a file called ".forward" in the users home folder in which you can specify the mailids to which the mails are to be forwarded. Say that you have a shell account at the ISP then you can set this.

I use thunderbird normally. I don't know about having a shell account , i have a pop3 account and a smtp account. Sorry i dont really know any more. Does anyone have any links i could use.

I would just like to ask if the forwarding is done will it appear that all the e-mails came from my account or will they look like they came from the origional sender.
