.forward file not working for user having it's home directoryon NFS mounted directory

I have sendmail 8.11.x installed on my Red Hat system.
Problem: I have created two users. One of the user (test1) is setup locally and the other user (test2) has been set up on a NFS mounted directory (/home2/test2), where /home2/ is NFS mounted on my system.

I have setup a .forward files for both these users. Any mail sent to these users are forwarded to a perl file which parses the email and creates some text files. The entry in the .forward file is like this : "|/home2/test2/parsemail.pl NEWLIST" .
I have created links to the executable programs in /etc/smrsh directory as well.

The problem is that when a mail is being sent to the user test1 ( existing locally, home dir: /home/test1 ), the .forward file forwards the email to the program and the program is executed and the text files are created. But when an email is being sent to the user ( existing on NFS mounted dir., home dir: /home2/test2 ), the email is not forwarded to the program and the files are not created.
The maillog files displays :
Feb 7 10:11:15 sendmail[28349]: j17FBF528349: from=<kroot@domainname.com>, size=732, class=0, nrcpts=1, msg502071511.HAA11544@domainname.com>, proto=ESMTP, daemon=Daemon0, relay=xyz.com

Feb 7 10:11:15 sendmail[28350]: j17FBF528349: to="|/home/test2/parsemail.pl NEWLIST", ctladdr=<test2@domainname.com> (507/1), delay=00:00:00, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=prog, pri=30159, dsn=2.0.0, stat=Sent

It shows that the mail has been delivered to the program but the files are not generated.
Is there anything missing to complete this issue? Any suggestions, inputs or references would be highly appreciated.

Thanks
