Format pen to FAT32 file system

Hi All,

I have formated my 2GB pen drive in linux machine using
"mkfs.ext3" command.

Now I am unable to use the pen dive in windows machine,

I tried to format the drive again using "mkfs.fat32"
but it's not executing. The error is............

*****************************************
[root@Gangeswar gangeswar]# mkfs.fat32 /dev/sdd
bash: mkfs.fat32: command not found
*****************************************

Please tell me how to use the drive in windows machine.

The first problem is that windows is not able to read ext3 filesystems, so switching to fat32 is a good idea.
Try with mkfs.vfat.
Alternatively, format the pen in windows with fat32, and linux will read it without problems.

The number of cylinders for this disk is set to 4865.
There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024,
and could in certain setups cause problems with:
1) software that runs at boot time (e.g., old versions of LILO)
2) booting and partitioning software from other OSs

Rebooted to Windows and Formatted the Pen drive again, Now It's fine to both the Operating systems.
