Format ext3 ONLY on unallocated space

I have unalloacated space in my ext. HD n I'm planning to format it as ext3. But I dont wanna format the whole thing, I only need that unallocated space for Linux cuz my ext. HD contains another partition (NTFS). Oo.. I'm using Fedora. Thanx in advance!

Formatting works against a partition, not an entire hard drive. So use the mkfs command to format the unallocated partition to ext3. Only the partition that you specify in the mkfs command will be formatted. See:
man mkfs

Make Linux-partition w/ fdisk in unallocated space
Format partition. Don't worry about Windows, you shouldn't have to (unless you enter the wrong partition name)
