Hello everyone. I'm going to get right to the point. Fonts for linux. Ok, I know that fonts for Linux take some tweaking to get them nice looking. Thats fine. However, i'm trying to figure it out. Here is my setup:
Red Hat 7.2
Netscape 6.2 i believe (newest version)
I use GNOME exclusively
What im looking for is to improve the fonts for Netscape so I can browse the net and actually read the webpages with no problem.
Ok, now, I know their are a lot of how to files, but im a little confused here. Granted, im still learning Linux so bear with me.
From what i've read, I need to add fonts to the X system. Makes sense. Also, it appears that I need to add fonts to XFS or XFSTT? This correct?
I've found two help files and would like opinions on both and which would best help me. Here are the links:
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Font-HOWTO.html
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/mini/FDU/
Any suggestions on which one would benefit me the most? Recommendations?
Thanks everyone. Trying to break away completely from Windows. All I have to do is solve this font problem and the cord is cut.
RL!
