Floppy mounting is a bit weird ...

If I mount a floppy as root and save the settings before I log out, the floppy appears for all users, and that's good, that's actually what I wanted. Cool. Bu it's a little weird, when I switch disks and press reload, it just clears the folder and doesn't reload. This kinda makes the floppy useless. Can this be solved?

All disks in Linux must be mounted to use. Before you take out your disk you must unmount it.

Ok. That's ok anyways, I can switch between DOS and Linux well that way.

What distribution are you using?

For Red Hat 8.0, the fstab is set up to allow any user to (un)mount the floppy drive as well as any CD-ROMS. You can mount it by right-clicking on the desktop -> disks -> floppy. Then you right-click on the floppy icon, and select Eject to unmount it.

Just throwing in my 2 cents...
