I just received a laptop from work, I partition the hdd and installed fedora along side windows xp.
However post installation i realised i dont have a floppy drive to create a boot disk.
Is there any way i can get the files i need, through my windows install on the laptop and create a boot img (for use in boot.ini), either on my other linux machine or in windows?
I know how to get the files from the ext3 partition, im just not sure what files i need.
What he said. I installed the dark side to my laptop today - a dual-booted windows 98 (perfect resort for n00bs at school like me). And cause of the install, the MBR was overwritten. Popped in the CD, installed LILO, and it put windows and linux in the menu. Snap - done.
The CD is an even better option than a floppy cause there are usually rescue features on it that floppy booters lack.
