After searching far and wide, I think ive found a home for my linux ideas & questions. Ive got RedHat 7.0 up and running now and im going through the paces. Ive got two books (1) Orielly - Learning Red Hat and (2) RedHat 7 unleashed question: - when i type linuxconf & i get "command not found", shouldnt linuxconf be already in my path after installing ? im logged in as root ive got ots of reading to do! :study: :newbie: |
no, it's no longer installed by defaults, as it's not regarded too highly, it has a habit of breaking things occasionally. if you do want it, you'll have to install it yourself, from the cd.
if it is installed for some reason, run 'updatedb' and then 'locate linuxconf' to find out where the program is, if it's not on your path |

If you really must have a point and click config tool I suggest you use webmin instead (its on the Red Hat CDs) |
