firewire cameras x2 using libraw1394 & libavc1394 ?

I've got a little library I use for working with the canon mv1 cameras we've got in our vision lab. Connecting to the computer via firewire is nice and easy, and using one camera is no problem at all. However, it would be useful to have two cameras connected to play around with some stereo type ideas.

There's only one firewire card on the computer, and raw1394 finds one port, which of course is right. With any luck, when two cameras are plugged in it'll find two nodes (can't check this off hand, one camera hasn't returned to the lab after going walkies a week or two ago..).

As far as I know, I'll need to make one camera use a different channel if I want access to both. Does anyone out there know anything about doing this? the web seems to be somewhat lacking...
