firefox fonts & bbc website

hello,

ive got linuxQ's.org, linux.com, and slashdot webpages all displaying the same sized font, but the bcc news webpage font is noticably bigger, and whatever size font i try in firefox font settings tab, it always remains larger than the other webpage's fonts.

any ideas on how to bring the bcc font into line with the others? im totally baffled.

oh btw, how do you change the toolbar fonts in firefox? 'file' ;edit' 'view' etc at the top? they all huge and i cant seem to change them anywhere.

damn fonts!

any help is much appreciated, and may help to stop a computer flying through a window.

If you really want all the fonts to look the same on all sites, just uncheck the option in Firefox under the Advanced section for fonts to "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above."

Tricky, yeah ive unchecked that box, and its the same font on all the sites, but the size of the font is bigger on the bbc website, for some reason.

Same problem here, only this on a new installation of MEPIS Anti-X, I have other distros installed and this is not a problem with them.

i worked out how to change the size of the grey option buttons at the top of firefox, its quite an extreme solution but i dont know how else to do it, and i couldnt live with the giant buttons, so i edited the ~/.Xresources file, and added:

Code:
Xft.dpi: 96
to make it smaller still you can put 72, but be aware that when you change the dpi, it affects all your other programs too.

i still dont know why the bbc websites font is bigger than the other websites though.
