firebird, flash and lq.org pages......

well i was fighting installing the flash plugin for firebird. but now there are lots and lots of threads that I can't get into because they require flash. I suppose its because of the ads or something. but anywho, as I really like this forum, could anyone tell me how to install the flash plugin for firebird? i have the tar.gz file. am i supposed to just configure make and make install, or do something specific for it since it is for firebird. oh and i tried to search this so I wouldn't have to post this, but I'm getting blocked searching also.

help? lol.

Well, if you already have flash and stuff set up for another mozilla-y browser, which you're not going to get rid of, you can just symlink the plugins directory of that to the plugins directory of firebird.. works for me.
If not... What did extracting the tar.gz give you? you might need to make/make install, i can't remember. Anyway, by the end you want a readable this in your plugins directory: a readable flashplayer.xpt and an executable/readable libflashplayer.so. That should be it, just restart firebird and check, put "aboutlugins" into the location/address/whatever bar to check installed plugins.
There's no special procedure for firebird. Mozilla plugins should work for it.
