What annoys me is traversing the file system in the GUI, opening a directory opens a whole new window. Is there a way to specify opening in the existing "parent" window?

In my VM of CentOS 7, using the "Home" icon on the desktop, I do not get this behavior. When I open a directory, it opens in the existing window.
