Fedora, Wine and Dreamweaver MX 2004

I'm running fedora 3, installed the fedora/redhat wine rpm today. I ran wine from the terminal and it setup a c_drive.

I've popped my dreamweaver cd in the drive and tried to run setup, its looks like its working ok and then during the installation says there was an error during setup.

Anyone any idea?

[root@oakws023 ~]# WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ole32,oleaut32,rpcrt4=n" wine Dreamweaver\ MX\ 2004.exe
err:module:import_dll Library RPCRT4.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\windows\\system\\ole32.dll") not found

I've tried downloading these DLLs and putting them into the windows\system folder, but it still doesnt work

right I've spent all afternoon on this and I still cant win.

I've reinstalled fedora core 3 and wine, I've followed the instructions on the website above and installed dcom98. Dreamweaver still runs no differently, I still get the same error message.

I then followed the instructions to install internet explorer, but again that doesnt work either.

I then tried to install the windows installer, that wont install either.

I did however manage to install winamp OK, but I only used that as a test to see if I could actually get anything to install.

I think your problem is the fact that your trying to install Dreamweaver MX 2004. Those instructions are for Dreamweaver MX. I have yet to see someone get Dreanweaver MX 2004 to work on wine. It relies to much on the windows system if im correct. You'll have to downgrade to Dreamweaver MX if you wanna install it on wine.

Remember Wine is an Emulator... You can't expect every Windows app to load and run perfectly... If your so dependent on Dreamweaver, IE, and Winamp... just setup a duel boot system...

click-now . net -> has a database full of new and older versions of software. You can find dreamweaver mx here, download it. It installs as a trial version until a product key is entered but this version of dreamweaver was years before adobe took over macromedia so there is no registering the product after entering a key. Trial version unlocks to full version once a valid key is entered, there are many product keys for dreamweaver mx floating around the internet.
