fedora core 2 no internet, yet working nic

I have an IP address and yet I can't use http? I assume this is some stupid default DNS setting, how do I make it look for DNS dynamically. It's set for localhost.localdomain now, is that the issue? I set it to be blank and it still doesn't work. This really seems like a horrendously sloppy thing to have wrong out of the box.

Are you using Gnome? If yes, got to Applications-> System Tools -> Internet Configuration Wizard .. should be self explainatory from there on.
