I have FC5 and I use gnome. I have installed cups-lpr from livna and set up a print queue for my printer (canon ip1500 with the correct ppd file from canon japan). The printer prints correctly from the local workstation but i cannot print from my work xp laptop. LPD print sharing is enabled in the print config manager. I have configured the xp print queue with an lpr port. I checked the communication with ethereal and found that I had to open port 515 in my firewall. Checked the print queue in lpc and the print job is sitting in the queue but not printing. I can still print via this print queue localy. Does anyone have any ideas? Also, the cups version of lpc doesn't seem to have much functionality compared with the old SVR2 version.
