faxing on linux

Hi, I'd like to know how simply how to fax a document (supposed to be converted in a adequat format such postscript or pdf) under linux; is there any standard command to proceed? I see also there is on most distributions a tool named KdePrintFax but until now, I failed to fax a document (in postscript format) with it, i saw too that it supports three protocols EFax, MGeetyFax and HylaFax but how does it works? Thank you for any suggestions

Cheers
Michel
