Failed to load module "atk-bridge"

Hi group,

I just reinstalled Debian on my laptop for the fourth time. Now when I start some apps I get this message:
Quote:
Failed to load module "atk-bridge"
I think it is related to the jave I have installed? I first installed openjdk-6-jre but then removed it because of problems it was causing in DIY Layout. I installed jre from Sun for DIY Layout and that works if I point to the Java6 install, but does not work if I use the normal Java.

I reinstalled libatk1.0-0, but that did not help with this problem.

So after all of that, my questions are:
  • Which Java do I tell aptitude to reinstall/install?
  • How can I make my Java6 the default Java?
  • How do I get atk-bridge support reinstalled?
I am just really confused about this mess.

Thanks for your time.

Here is an example of the failure:
Code:
 gconf-editor
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "atk-bridge": libatk-bridge.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

(gconf-editor:19277): Gnome-WARNING **: Accessibility: failed to find module 'libgail-gnome' which is needed to make this application accessible
