Question extracting this file...

Hi, EA released the 1942 Linux Beta server and i downloaded it but i don't know how to extract it tar zxvf doesnt work and its not a .bin im stuck. can somone help me? here is the filename: bf1942-lnxded-1.2beta1.tar.bz2

That file is compressed using tar and bzip2.

bzip2 -d filename.tar.bz2
tar -xvf filename.tar

You'll probably need to use the y option or flag to untar with bunzip.

man tar for more details.

"tar -xvjf bf1942-lnxded-1.2beta1.tar.bz2"
"bzcat bf1942-lnxded-1.2beta1.tar.bz2 | tar -xv
