ext2 / ext3
After a certain number of mounts, ext3 partitions are forced to be checked. Is this the same style of check that would occur after an improper shutdown of an ext2 partition? (In other w0rds, a check that does not analyze the consistency of the journal, but of the data itself?)
Since these checks do not take that long- roughly 30 seconds, wouldn't it be best to use ext2 (which is significantly faster that ext3)?
Or consider Reiser or XFS .... which are faster than
both of the aforementioned...
