Execute command from other users directory

Hello,

Say user1 has on executable with 0777 permission setting in:-

/home/user1/scripts/executable

What all user1 needs to do to ensure that user2 can execute that?

I have tried:-

$ chmod 777 scripts/executable

from user1, but still user2 is not able to execute that.

Rule number one: "is not able" isn't enough information. Always tell us the exact error message. (Don't paraphrase; copy and paste into the message is best.)

So what error message does user2 get?
