exabyte 8200 tape what to do?

I recently installed an old exabyte 8200 tape drive to our redhat linux.
The linux PC seems to read the tape drive because upon boot, the ff. lines get displayed:

scsi id: 4 EXABYTE EXB-200
Host Adapter SCSI ID - 7

I've been trying to look for the device but can't find it.
Can anybody teach me what to do next? How do I look for the device? Do I need to mount it?

Any help would be much appreciated.

yes mount the device!

and if it doesn't exist, create it

look thru
/usr/src/linux/Documentation/devices.txt

for a list of all the devices you can chose to make
