evtest for the keyboard to monitor ?

Hi, I would like to monitor an input /dev/input, likely by id, and to operate some scripts for a headless server.

How to do that for a given input ID, evtest or other trick?
Code:
  evtest "${str}" >> ~/deviceattached.list &
Possible?

Thanks

I wish you a nice day!
