/etc/services


Hi,
How can a create a service for /etc/services and how to exploit it.

You can add anything you want into that file.

All it does is provide a list of ports and their well-known names. Your server can be configured however you desire. But then, it wouldn't be "standard" and may not present other administrators with common accepted administration concepts.

In short, it's not going to get you much if you want to modify it. I don't see any significant gains in "exploiting" it's function.

Ok, but lot of applications exploit this file with lines loooking like
tttt 1225/tcp
What are these services for ?
