Hi,
Really a newbie question... When I run programs like Xconfigurator or linuxconf from text mode I get a character mode screen and some of the fields have a downward arrow, which I believe indicates that there is a list of values available for the field. How do I 'drop down' the list to see the values??? I tried various keys and key combinations like down key, tab, space, enter, combination or shift and alt with these keys...... Still haven't figured it out.... How do I do it?

Try page up or down.

I decided that pagedown/pageup is going to work without even attempting to test it! So stupid of me! No, trickykid. Pageup and pagedown didn't work on my machine.
Just ran linuxconf again and pageup and pagedown doesn't seem to work...Are the downward pointing arrows next to the fields actually list of values or they mean something else???
btw I am running RH7.0, if that helps. Please let me know how to drop down the list of values ( if that's what they are..). Thanks again.

Thanks, unSpawn, for your answer! How can I know what other keys exist (say for help( F1??? ),etc, etc, etc ) ? Is there a documentation on the list of function keys in text mode?

from the RH documentation....

"Use the Tab and arrow keys to navigate the text-mode screens. A down arrow on a line indicates that a pull-down menu exists on that line. The Ctrl-X key combination will make pull-down menus appear. "

Heh, ure the 1st one got my name right...
Even tho linuxconf has a "help" button, it wont show u HOW it works, guess uve got to read either the docu (I never did, might be somewhere in /usr/doc) or the other docu uve pointed u to in /usr/lib/linuxconf/help.eng/.
Maybe the makers have some nfo/howto/help on their webpages... (was it Rustcorp?)
