Errors Compiling Kernel
 

hi

i'm following a guide on how to create a distro on 2 floppies. the first stage is to configure a module-less kernel with support for i386, floppy, ram disk & console on virtual terminal. i'm using RH9 kernel version 2.4.20-8 as my base distro.

having configured the kernel with relevant support using make menuconfig i then proceed with make dep, make clean (all goes well). when i make bzImage i constantly get errors; mainly Error[2].

please help!

i havent had to download source code as this was recently a fresh installation of RH9. symlink is pointing to correct source tree.

everything goes fine until i reach the make bzImage where after a little compiling it halts and reports an Error 2. the odd thing is that where it halts during the compile process is hardly ever the same.
