Hi all,

When I try to connect a telnet server on RHEL 5.0, it gives me a error :

Trying to connect 192.168.0.45(192.168.0.45)
Escape character is `^]`.
getaddr info : localhost : connection refused

I resolved with the help of some threads in this forum.

It appears that , in the absence of DNS, the clients searches for name when we connect telnet server with IP. So, I edited the file /etc/hosts and put the entry of telnet server in the telnet client computer. It worked.

In the case windows telnet client, go to C:/Windows/System32/Drivers/etc/hosts, put the entry of telnet server (IP and Hostname).

Thanks for taking interest in my problem.

Deepak
