I changed the permissions on cdrecord but still no luck. I'm not too experienced w/ Python, and I have no clue what those errors mean when I try to record. Any idea?

When running in root it it will act as if it is going to record, the recording light on the drive comes on and it says

Starting to write CD/DVD at speed 4 in real TAO mode for single session
Waiting for reader process to fill input buffer ... input buffer ready
Performing OPC...
Starting new track at sector: 7329

Then it sits there, and eventually I get the following errors in the console

Script started on Tue Nov 12 04:13:53 2002

that's very confusing... the error message says that you are still anjo, but the prompt says you are root... can you explain that at all? I'd suggest you make sure you have the very newest version, as those errors that you have provided (i.e. the snippets of code) are not in my version of eroaster, and i too have 2.1.0... the file i used is http://thirtythreeandathird.net/eroaster-2.1.0.tar.gz try that one for a start.
