Error in install Oracle9i R 2


Hi all,

Am using RHEL-5 (2.6.18-8.el5) in my desktop and i have set all pre-Installation settings for oracle 9i; when I gave ./runInstaller it shows the below error message :

[oracle@localhost CD1]$ ./runInstaller
[oracle@localhost CD1]$ Initializing Java Virtual Machine from /tmp/OraInstall2009-07-23_01-11-29AM/jre/bin/java. Please wait...
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: No protocol specified Exception in thread "main" java.lang.InternalError: Can't connect to X11 window server using ':0.0' as the value of the DISPLAY variable.

at sun.awt.X11GraphicsEnvironment.initDisplay(Native Method)
at sun.awt.X11GraphicsEnvironment.<clinit>(X11GraphicsEnvironment.java:54)
at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method)
at java.lang.Class.forName(Class.java:115)
at java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment.getLocalGraphicsEnvironment(GraphicsEnvironment.java:53)

at oracle.sysman.oii.oiic.OiicInstaller.main(OiicInstaller.java:593)

How to solve this problem.

This has been answered on here several times in the past. If you search for it, it'll bring up lots of threads concerning this, with solutions...no need to retype it all.

Also, have you considered calling Oracle?? You're paying for their support, and they can walk you through the solution over the phone. If all else fails, you can install Oracle via the command-line too...
