When I open a virtual console in my brand new Salckware and type var, I get:

Code:

But I could not find in the startup scripts where these variables are set. Could you tell me where are they set up, how can I chage them and how can export all them to X?

they are usually set in the bash startup scripts, /etc/profile , and that normally runs ~/.bashrc or somewhere similar
