Encrypting A Port

Hello All,

I was wondering if it is possible to encrypt a port? I was installing nrpe for nagios but will not be allowed to if the port is not encrypted. I having way too many servers to use the check_by_ssh function with nagios.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

you can't just "encrypt" a port, that doesn't make sense, there are plenty of kinds of encryption that do different things in different ways. It's possible that you mean how to tunnel a service over ssl?? in that case if your application of choice doesn't support it explicitly, you can use a tool like stunnel to generically encapsulate traffic in SSL.
