I'm really embarrassed about this, but I haven't figured out how to paste images from a web browser(In this case firefox) to an image editor(in this case the gimp) if this is possible
The only application I have been able to paste an image into has been OO.org Can anyone clear this up for me?
"I'm really embarrassed about this, but I haven't figured out how to paste images from a web browser(In this case firefox) to an image editor(in this case the gimp) if this is possible"
I am able to do it in Mozilla by right clicking on the image, save image as, and saving the image to a file. Then in gimp I open the file. Firefox probably works the same way.
ok, in a web browser (if it supports this, new browsers should) click on the image so the menu comes up, and go to "copy image location" , then go into gimp->file->open then do a paste, and the URL of the image should be in the something .. (that text box that the image path goes into) .. then click "open" .. gimp will download the image, and open it up, from there its like any other image
I would say that you can't. Webpages consists only of text. The figures are included by references in the text: something in the source saying "PUT HERE THE IMAGE THAT IS THIS LOCATION". So when the browser finds it, reads the image file in LOCATION. In particular, the LOCATION has to be accesable: it has to be in the web.
You can take a look to the source code of this page, and you will find no images!. They are included with the <IMG SRC="...."> HTML tag.
