email server POP and IMAP
 
Running Red Hat 9.0
I would like to setup an email server that will deliver email to windows users that have outlook.
I also want the ability to check mail over the web.
How is that possible?
please help.

Setup sendmail or Postfix to accept mail preferably postfix. Then enable imap from within xinetd. Thats it.

If you have it installed there should be a file under /etc/xinetd.d. I dont remember exactly what the name is somthing like imapd it should be obvious. In that file set disable = no and then run /etc/init.d/xinetd reload. Then maybe portscan yourself to see if it worked.
