Lightbulb EMacs


hey guys I been on my linux bnox agine I been reading about EMacs what is it realy for ??

Emacs is a text editor made by the GNU project originally (at least I think so). It is much larger than the standard UNIX vi editor, and comes with many, many more features.

Google it.

EDIT: please, no flames wars here. I would hate to be the cause of such disruption

Yes, emacs is primarily a text editor. I use it everyday at work for coding. There have been extensions written for it to do quite a few things.

I been reading the Linux RedHat 7.2 Bible and playing with emacs and other text editor's Linux is a awsome OS I learned alot about open scorce thanks guys this fourm is the best

Emacs is an editor and much much more. It was written by Richard Stallman of the Free Software Foundation. Go GNU, GO!

It is not only a text editor but supports syntax highlighting, email, is a web browser and so much more.
